Worth appealing?

Convicted Driver Insurance
I've had my driving licence revoked for non-dependent 'alcohol misuse' and would be grateful to know whether it is worthwhile appealing.

In September I had series of medical tests and discussions when my GP thought I had prostate cancer. I volunteered that I drank a G&T before dinner and a glass of wine with, two if we had company. The GP recorded 35 units/week. My liver function and bloods were completely average.
When renewing my driving licence at aged 70 in November, I applied for a lorry licence (previously included within my driving licence) as I occasionally drove a horse box. The DVLA forms required access to my medical records, and based on those they revoked my car driving licence.

I don't drink drive and have held a clean licence for 48 years. I am my wife's carer. Should I appeal?

I think the answer is that there appears no real downside to the appeal. If you do not feel like you have an alcohol issue then you should list the matter and have the Courts make a determination.
Thank you for this encouragement.
Neither I nor my friends & family believe there is an alcohol issue.
The downside is cost; a solicitor acquaintance (perhaps not a specialist) told me that the chances of success are remote, the costs high, and the process lengthy. He also said "when" I lose I will have to pick up DVLA costs, so I would "throw away ten thousand pounds". I'm really keen to have a qualified second opinion.
