My car has been taken by the police as I hit a curb and was involved in a minor accident. Afterwards I was taken into the police station as I was breathalysed and I was over the limit. The officer who attended the scene told my husband he could get his car back, but the other officer who is dealing with my case doesn't communicate with us as to why the car has not been released yet. It happened 2 weeks ago. We are just worried as we don't have any information. How can we get the car back? No serious damage has been done. Thank you.

It is unusual for the police to retain the vehicle in those circumstances unless they are carrying out examinations of the vehicle. Unfortunately, you will need to press the police further for an update. It may be that a charge has to be paid before the vehicle can be released. If you cannot get hold of the specific officer I would suggest contacting the custody suite t=you were taken to and they should be able to advise where the vehicle is being stored.
