Please help - should I bother get a solicitor?

I am due in court on 23 June also! I have just spoken to a solicitor who has said 1200 in total to represent me...really not sure what to do either :/
She wants to go down the route of saying procedure wasn’t followed properly as I was sick at the station before they breathalised me, but I know I was drunk so best just to plead guilty and is it worth paying 1200 just to get a couple of months off my ban?

Whataveidone, by all means chat to a specialist solicitor (for free advice on the phone) but there is no need at all to use one for mitigation. They will want about £1,000 and for £300 you can use a generic solicitor who will be just as good for that purpose (mitigation is mitigation no matter what the offence) the difference in price between them will pay your fine and the cost of a Dring drive rehabilitation course that will reduce the length of your ban more than mitigation will probably.
