Convicted Driver Insurance
You have to disclose all material facts, and a temporary licence counts as one so yes, you need to tell them.
it may have an impact on the premium. If it has a big impact, there are some specialist insurance companies, including one or two on here, who will be reasonable about a drink drive conviction. You are doing the right thing, looking at smaller cars with a drink drive conviction, certainly for the first couple of years.

Thanks dude.

I will let them know and see what they say. Im just waiting for this Cover Note now... As soon as that comes I am able to drive again. Will be an amazing feeling im sure. Just gotta wait for the bloody letter to come through the post now though, I saw a brown letter hangingfrom the letterbox this morning and honestly thought it was that, but instead was a FPNotice that my dad had recieved ;)

Does anyone know how long it took for them to receieve there cover note, its been 2 days now i dont understand why they cant just email me it.

Cover Note came through this morning! Stating I can now drive again. and if i get stopped by the police, I can show them this letter. WOW. I am feeling good right now.

Now all I have to do it keep the drinking under control for a further few weeks and wait for that medical appoitment to come through the post!

This might sound weird, but I cant wait to celebrate once my medical is done (and hopefully fingers crossed all clear) by going out drinking, leaving my car at home like a normal civilized and law abiding citizen would do...

I will keep people posted on here of my next steps as I know its not quite over just yet as I have now on a temp licence until im all clear at the medical.

Just filled out my re-application for license today. Nasty shock when I saw it was £65 (I am not HRO), I was expecting £20 (fee it costs for replacement of lost photocard license). Another way they sting you I guess. Though at this stage I think I'd have handed over £650 without a whimper just to put this nightmare to bed.
