Several people on here have mentioned Admiral or Hastings, particularly as they seem to be very well aware of the DVLA delays and S88 situation.Hey guys, me again haha! Which insurer is best for Section 88 driving acceptance? I’m assuming you have to call rather than do online and assume the insurance is accurate??
I use CO-OP ECO as they were cheapest.
They didn't have a clue about S88 but were happy to take me after a long discussion /argument to and fro. As long as I had a letter from DVLA to say I may be entitled to drive under S88 and that my declaration of being fit to drive was noted on my medical file by my gp then it was OK.
You could give them a try.
You also need to tell them that you do not have a physical licence and refer to the reasons of S88 criteria (correct paperwork with dvla etc)
Worth a try to save a few quid anyway.
