My son drove his van to help rescue a friend. Unfortunately my son had consumed some alcohol. He was pulled over by the police and found to have 82mg of alcohol per 100ml when breath tested. This is his first offence and he is now very worried that if he loses his licence to drive he will lose his job. He is a joiner who works on new house builds in locations around the country. He is 24 years old. Can we do anything to avoid a driving ban?

HE was sat in a bar (his car parked up for the night) when his friend phoned and was in distress because he was being threatened and pleading for help. My son felt obliged to help and was himself distressed at what he had heard
