Good Afternoon all,
First post here.
Summer 2024 I was found to be drink driving, I didn’t blow at the roadside. But blew 60 at the station after I was arrested.
I had an altercation with my partner and I was locked out of my house. I decided that I needed somewhere to sleep, so I decided to sleep in the car. I literally driven round the corner to a lit car park to get my head down for the night.
I was followed in by the police who later arrested me for being unfit due to drink or drugs.
The distance I drove was 0.2 miles. Not far at all.
I pleaded not guilty as this would dramatically affect my job and I needed my license for some time. It was then adjourned till Nov25.
A week before the trial date, I got a later from the court saying it’s now adjourned for another year till Nov26.
Last week I got a letter stating it’s now been brought forward to Apr26.
During the time between getting charged and now, I have realised that I had a serious problem with alcohol and have since done a full detox on the NHS and am now completely sober. I also hold a clean licence and have no previous convictions.
Do you think that the time or adjournment will be taken into consideration? Do you think my clean licence will be taken into consideration? What about my becoming sober from alcohol? Mental health grounds? Hardship?
I look forward to any advice.
Thanks
Reece
