Was stopped & breathalysed at the side of the road. It registered 42 (I now know the legal limit is 35), I had no idea I was over the limit. Absolutely devastated. No accident or incident, no previous convictions, have just turned 40. I was on my motorbike. Had to chain it to a lamp post as they took me to the police station, and retrieved it later.
I'm so worried, without transport I can't work. It seems from reading info online that a ban is inevitable - is that the case?

A reading of 42µg of alcohol per 100ml of breath will lead to a mandatory minimum conviction of between 12 and 16 months together with a fine. A ban for this type of offence is unavoidable in the event of a guilty plea.
