Hi,

I am planning to represent myself in magistrates for my DD charge. I just wondered what I should say, I do not have, nor do I wish to make a defence, I only wish to relay my feelings of remorse to the bench.

Just wondered if you had any advice? Thanks!

If you are intending to plead guilty you need to be aware that the length of disqualifications that the Court will impose range from 12 months to 36 months.

You would need to put forward your mitigation which includes your personal circumstances and feelings in relation to the offence as well as your remorse.

We are able to offer fixed fee representation where someone wishes to plead guilty, which enables those due to appear in Court to get the lowest possible sentence and ban.

It is worth knowing that a lot of the time drink driving cases can be defended using technical arguments even where no factual defences exist. If successful, you would be found not guilty.
