Hi,

I have just got my court date for 2 weeks today.

My charge is "Drive motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit ... namely 83 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit."

What can I expect on the day and what punishment and fine can I expect?

Thanks

The result produced is marginally over the limit of 80mg in blood. This means that you penalty will be considered with reference to the lowest sentencing bracket for this type of offence meaning you will likely face a ban of between 12 and 16 months alongside a fine. You may also be given the opportunity to attend a drink driving rehabilitation course which could have the effect of reducing your ban by 25%.
