Is the dvla giving me the wrong information

I need to take an extended retest when my ban finishes,I've been told by the DVLA that when I pass my test I will get all my catagories back I had before my ban,full motorcycle test passed sep 87,car test passed july 87 and class c passed feb 98 (pending on traffic commissoner) I,ve spoke to the DVLA three times and got the same reply but on the dvla website it says different,which one is telling the truth,I was banned 18 months dangerous driving.
