Good day to all,
Where shall I start well at the beginning is best.
I was caught drink driving at 2 times over the limit, it is the worst mistake I have ever made. I almost lost my job, in the end I did loose it and it proved to be a difficult time for me, only gaining temp work and moving several times. I was caught and banned for two years in April 2012, I received a 2 year ban , 1 years probation, an £80 fine & had to do the DID course over a 14 week period.
I moved to Manchester in 2014 and did not need to re-apply as I could get around easily there and a vehicle was an unnecessary expense. I have since re-located as I started a relationship and have decided to get my licence more as a way of feeling restored really but would like the freedom to drive.
I aim to provide an honest and frank portrayal of the DVLA - CDT - medical process as there does seem to be some inconsistency in the stories. E.G "I had a binge a week before the test, the binge was 1.5 bottles of wine" . We know this is probably more like 3.5 bottles of wine and several other drinks.
By the way Im not having a go , Im trying to be honest, this will be my journey from 15th July 2018 to test day which is on the 29th August 2018 & beyond.
I started my journey on 15th July after the world cup. I will be posting my drink diary, which is 100% honest. I have had a drink but never more than three and not regular at all.
I will post the diary tomorrow. Here is my regime :
Im 38 years old, no pre existing medical conditions, I work 9-5 , I walk three miles a day in that process, I smoke 15-20 roll ups per day although I have started using a vape as well in an effort to cut down. I take 380MG Milk thistle capsules

I take 1050MG cod liver oil with vitamin D
200MG multi vitamins and iron
I drink 2-3 litres of water a day
I eat three square meals , including vegetables
I applied for the medical on 30/07/2018 and didn't get the paperwork until today. As soon as you see the £90 go from your account get onto the DVLA straight away, and keep checking, ring between 10-12 & 2pm on for quietest times.
Lucky I did as my paper work only came through but I already knew who and where the medical was going to be. I called and they said they couldn't reserve the appointment and only had the 31st August, after this 1st on I will be on holiday so it was imperative I got in before the 1st September, today they had the paperwork and the appointment had gone.
I called the DVLA today and asked if they had any other Drs, I explained that I had been working for 6 weeks on this and needed to get in as I have the holiday from 1-12 September and then my works do, which is a 3 day overseas trip, obviously I wont be passing anything after those trips. Luckily they gave me three Drs and the last one had availability next wednesday. PHEW.
I will update you, if you want to ask questions please do, I will post the diary tomorrow. Please remeber guys & girls what we were taught in the DID course.
Everyones body digests alcohol differently, keep a drink diary & most important be honest with yourself and other
Ciao for now , be seeing you
