How do I choose a solicitor?

Hi Martin

I blew 70. My job and career are on the line with this conviction.

I want to hire a local solicitor who will fight my case in court. I'm not willing to throw myself on the duty solicitor on the day, as my friends experience is that the duty on her day was rubbish.

Do you have any tips of how to find a good solicitor please?

Well I agree that duty solicitor is not the way I would go as there is too much uncertainty and inconsistency.

Your choices are to hire a local criminal defence practice or hire one of the specialist drink driving law firms. The criminal lawyers would be slightly cheaper but they are more general, where the drink driving practices deal with these cases every day. I can give you an idea of what we would charge which would be £1500+vat, but the only way to find out what others charge is to search the internet and call the ones you like the look of. Reviews are obviously very important.
