Good morning all! I haven’t been very vocal on here but I just wanted to let you all know the result of my “journey”.
Today 09/08 I was due back in Court having pleaded not guilty back in February to the charge of In Charge of a Motor Vehicle.....(etc) relating to my charge in June 2020. Fortunately last Wednesday I received a phone call from my Solicitor to say that he had received confirmation that the CPS had sent through a Notice of Discontinuance based on option 1: lack of evidence.
To say I am elated is beyond comprehension. I haven’t posted until today because the 9th of August has been festering in my brain for months and I can’t quite believe that it’s all over.
This forum is amazing and the advice is second to none. Thank you to everyone on here and I do appreciate that my circumstances were unusual and most charges are not dropped so I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up.
Finally, my only advice to anyone on here is do not fall for the expensive Conviction Specialists you see online. I nearly did but my local solicitor has been incredible and the relatively small charges we have had to pay for excellent advice were worth it so very much. In fact, he even thinks we should be able to recoup some (legal aid rates) from the CPS!
I wish each and every one of you all the very best on your personal journey xx
