DVLA problems

Convicted Driver Insurance
I was banned from driving on a DR60 charge and failed my first medical. I had another medical 6 months later and DVLA returned my license to me for one year only and then would write to my GP. They now want another medical from me which they are paying for. Can they do this? Presumably if they have let me drive for one year with no problems then I should get my license back properly? I am in the process of getting a copy of the medical for which they allowed me to drive on for one year. Please advise.

Linda,

If the DVLA consider you to be a high risk offender then they are entitled to require you to submit to a medical and can subject you to annual reviews.

If you do not pass the medical and the DVLA withhold your licence from you then you are entitled to appeal to the Magistrates' Court local to yourself.
