Driving Licence

Convicted Driver Insurance
You cannot drive until your ban has ended and, if you were ordered to sit a retest (if you were convicted of dangerous driving for example) you have passed the retest.

Thats what I thought, no resit necessary so just wanted to clarify the ban point. Why, though - do they allow you to re-apply for your licence 56 days before your ban ends if you cant do anything with the licence?? Seems bizarre to me.

Simple. This is because, until your new licence has been granted and received by you, you cannot drive lawfully, even after the ban has expired. So, they allow you to apply for and receive your licence before the end of your ban so that you are able to drive lawfully the minute your ban expires, rather than then having to wait longer whilst your application is processed.
