You can see their point if they came round half an hour or so after you last drove, and you drank about half a litre of jack Daniels whisky and two cans all within about twenty minutes before they arrived. They would automatically assume you had drunk some of it earlier.

My solicitor also pointed out that, in his view, a lot of magistrates or DJ, are quite conservative and reserved people. The idea that someone could possibly drink 500ml of whisky in 20 minutes might be unbelievable to them. (I’m quite sure it’s possible, but I’m not the person deciding)
