Until 4 August I was a 35 year old male bus driver NEVER drinking anything within 24 hours of being on duty. I had 2 days off and spent the evening with a friend at the coast. We had several beers. Things developed in the early hours and we wound up arguing. To avoid a fight I left. It was a quite coastal caravan site, 4am in the morning and I thought I would get away from the aggression by moving my car down the road then sleeping in it. The police were waiting for me. My so called friend having called them to report me. The test back at the police station registered 77 and I am in court this Friday. What can I expect to receive both in respect of a fine and a ban? Needless to say I lost my job immediately and may lose my flat because I can no longer pay the rent. My life is a total mess.

Hi there,

It may still be possible to avoid the inevitable ban that you will be sentenced to if you plead guilty on the full facts as there may be a special reason not to ban you. If you were to be banned then the usual ban is 17 - 22 months together with a financial penalty.
