Dear friends

Just got my licence back after dr30 ban after 9months
Can anyone advice me if there is any insurance company which provide cheap insurance and I don’t have any ncb and my licence is only 2years 6 months old
I’m choosing Nissan juke 2010 1.6
What wore my option anyone with similar experience

I will just forward my reply on another post, mine was DR10 not DR30:

" I am now around 13 months back behind the wheel.

Insurance can be very hit and miss on drink driving.

I was banned for 18months and reduced to 14 with the course.

I am (now) 34 so that might help, insurance pre ban was around 800 (high performance car, no modification).

1st year after the ban was 1350 (Aviva, directly on their website), renew somehow was over 2k.

switched to esure flex, now around 800 again.

But some background infomation, I was not in a accidient, just stopped by police. so I manage to keep my now 10 years NCD.

I also had a non-fault claim back into 2020."

Hope that helps.

Did you find any best dr30 cover ? And if you did how much are you paying for the year / per month ?

Just to chip in on this, as my ban ended a couple of months ago.

The cheapest quote by quite a long way was from Admiral, which came out as a little over £800 for the year, on a 2014 Ford Focus.

I was actually surprised how cheap it was, but then I don't have previous points/convictions, it's kept on a private driveway, not driven that many miles each year, no previous claims, low crime area, isn't modded, etc. I ticked every 'good' box apart from the conviction basically.

If you get caught drink driving on an Admiral policy, there's stories on these forums about how much of a pain they are, but in terms of policy price and dealing with non-DD incidents, they seem very good. And obviously, I have no intention of drink driving again so hopefully I don't have to worry about being on their bad side.

Ye same here clean license never had points or any convictions and av got 12 years no claims discount, what is your conviction code ? Mine wasn't for drink driving mine was for failing to provide DR30 conviction ?
