Hi. I’m an international student driving with an international licence but I also have a provisional license, anyway I was charge drink driving offence and I blew 47 and I work part time as a Carer. Do I need to a get a solicitor for my hearing or what can I do to at least reduce my sentence

Unless there's a Duty Solicitor available on the day, I wouldn't bother. Just plead guilty, kindly request the Drink Drive Awareness Course, and then expect a 25% reduction off whatever ban you get (once you've successfully completed the course).

Good luck!

Which licence were you driving under? You can only drive for 12 months with a 'foreign' licence. If you were driving under the provisional licence, were you driving with a qualified driver and L plates?

I was driving with the provisional and I didn’t had no L plates no driver either
I'm afraid you're also very likely to be getting charged with Driving Other Than In Accordance With A License.

Sorry!

Yep, you will be charged with Drink Driving, No Insurance and No Licence.

In this case I would get a solicitor. You should only need to pay around £400 for one if you are pleading guilty.

Your Solicitor will best advise you on mitigation.

Have you only been charged with Drink Driving? If yes, then I wouldn't get a solicitor. Just plead guilty, say sorry and ask for the course.

Having a solicitor is down to your personal choice. If you're confident enough then you can do it yourself. A local solicitor however may be able to get the CPS to drop the additional charges and stick with the drink drive or at least explain the mitigation better to ensure your sentence is minimised. It should not cost any more than £3-400 as you don't need a 'specialist' if you're pleading guilty.
