Hi All,

I was convicted of drink driving in Ireland on the 8th of January 2018 where i was banned for 3 years and fined €700. Shortly after I permanently moved to the UK where I have lived for the past 2.5 years. I decided to see if I can apply for a UK provisional license here and i declared that i was currently disqualified in Ireland. It allowed me to finished my application and I'm now awaiting a forum to be sent out to my house. Should I be expecting to be refused a provisional license here in the UK sense i am still disqualified in Ireland. I plan on surrendering my Irish license once it has been returned after my 3 year sentence has been spent.

Thank you for any advice,

A ban in Ireland IS a ban in England through a reciprocal arrangement.
If there is a mistake in paperwork and DVLA do issue you with a provisional licence it will not alter the fact that you are disqualified. It would invalidate your insurance as well.
