Ok thank u so much pal for the advice much appreciatedThe price comparison sites were the cheapest for most on this forum. In the first year after my DR10 my insurance doubled but if I had have lost my no claims bonus it would have been over 4k as I put in a few quotes without the bonus to see. I'm not on my third year since the offence and my insurance is pretty much back to normal. Try calling the insurance company advertised on this website and Adrian Flux for convicted driver insurance. If they come back in the 3-6k range then unfortunately bud that's what insurance is going to cost for you.
Hi, I was warned not to use price comparison sites on my DD course, have I been given the wrong info then? Which insurers do you guys use?
As far as TTC go (dddrs course provider) they receive NO commission on insurance sales for recommending a ‘preferred’ insurance provider. Thanks both. Didn’t even consider the fact that the DD course providers might get some sort of commission…
Spoke to a broker earlier and they gave me a quote for £880 for an A class. Was fully expecting about 5k so very happy!!

All they reward they receive is that the Insurance company pay for the course work booklets that include an advert for their insurance services. They receive no extra money according to the amount of policies sold.
Any incentive given to use one company over another is a sort of commission. Medichecks don't just advertise on this site (Look below - the advert says their test costs £69 but when you click the link it says £79 so actually is false advertising and is illegal!!!) I have noticed that on this site, when a thread mentions a CDT test, it is edited so the word CDT has a link attached to lead to Medichecks site so would presume that there is also some commercial agreement with the site owners.
I would also hazard a guess that the 'A-Plan insurance' and the 'Ask a solicitor' threads have some kind of commercial arrangement involved also. It may be that the site owners are paid on a 'Pay per Click' agreement or a 'Cost per Application' payment. Both common monetisation methods.
