I am due to go to court on Wednesday next week.
So frightened that I will go to prison. I do have a meeting tomorrow to discuss mitigating factors with a solicitor but in beyond scared

You can’t go to jail , talking from a previous experience, Drink and Drive cases don’t end up in Jail except it involves loss of lives and properties. My case was adjourned to next year

ah thanks for asking , I got 24 months reduced to 18 as I agreed to do the drink driving course. And rather than give me low level community order they agreed to give me a larger fine as I already do two jobs and look after mom so double edge sword but the fine can be paid monthly x

Pretty much bang on the sentencing guidelines, slightly on the lower end.

Just a countdown now! I’m 12 months in to an 18 month ban, honestly time flies and you adapt quickly.

Be kind to yourself now the worst is over x

Just joined this forum. I was in a cell last night for 4 1/2 hours blowing 49. I’m due in court in September on my daughter’s birthday. I’m also petrified. My first ever driving offence. Not proud of myself at all. I’m at risk of losing my business for a stupid choice I made….does any one have any advice. All I seem to be reading is it’s a mandatory 12-16month ban. So ashamed of my self

You will definitely get a ban of atleast 12 months as that’s mandatory, I would ask to do the drink drive course which will knock 25% off the ban, how come your court date is so far away? I have mine tomorrow 2 weeks after I was arrested, try not to stress.

I can imagine you’ll get a 12 month ban reduced to 9 months with the drink drive rehabilitation course (make sure you ask for this on the day of court as you can’t request it after).

I’m sorry to hear what’s happened to you but you will be ok I know the feeling all too well as I lost my job and about 20k in earnings due to what I did last year.

It’s a nightmare but you will adapt and your ban will come around quickly

No idea Claire, they did say there was a backlog. Absolutely gutted what I’ve done.
