Cdt blood test

I had a ban in 2010 only recently have I applied for my licence back sent forms and payment 23rd of Jan had a medical cdt blood test they have the result but have yet to review it when I rang on the 2nd of April I think its totally wrong that you pay for a blood test the dvla have the result but your not permitted to know what the result is???? I know it will be very low but that's not the point im getting very frustrated as getting my licence back is required for my job promotion

Hi what happens during the process of the medical is that your bloods are sent straight to lab to be tested and normally uploaded on to the DVLA systems approx 2 days after. The paperwork from the doctor they say to allow 10
Working days for it to be uploaded. When you phone the DVLA they will not give you your result over the phone. (They will say they aren’t medical and aren’t allowed to do so) The good thing is they have them so it’s highly unlikely there has been an error with the sample you have given.

I received my CDT result in writing after my licence was issued.
At present you are in the process of now waiting for your licence to be issued so it’s just a frustrating waiting game. You can raise a SAR but if you know your result is going to below then it’s just a case of riding it out until your licence is issued and then they will send the results. Completely agree on how frustrating it is. Good luck and hopefully you won’t have to wait too long.

Great. So taking in to account the Easter weekend your paperwork from the medical should be loaded on to the system by the 8th of April. I would give the medical team a call then and ask for an update. I know it’s been some time since your previous licence but do you have an online account / your licence number so you can check keep

Unfortunately not I've not got my licence number with it being so long ago I've asked for it but they can't give it to me unless I ask in writing and wait 3weeks again frustrating but I suppose understandable. But thank you for your advice much appreciated

I’ve attached a link to creating the account with the dvla im not sure if they can identify/ verify you with passport details etc it may be worth a try if you haven’t already

I rang on Wednesday the 1st and was told its yet to be reviewed i did explain that it was for my job they said they'd put a note on for me I will ring again on Tuesday and stipulate the urgency thanks for your reply hopefully I'll be as lucky as yourself

Brilliant ref the account.. can you see any expired licence details at all with a previous issue number? If so keep an eye on the issue number as members have seen the issue number increase just before their licence is issued

I had my medical on 25/3/26 and DVLA confirmed they’ve received the blood test and medical results on 30/3/26. I’ve called a couple of times to chase my new licence up but they just say it’s waiting to be looked at by the medical team. My ban ends today, so frustrating that I could be driving tomorrow if the paperwork had been processed. I keep checking my online driving account but the issue number of my licence hasn’t changed as of yet. I guess it could be a week or more yet until they process it all?

Any news hh2010? I’ve been checking my online driver account (around 10 times per day) and still showing as licence expired. Tried to call DVLA medical team this afternoon but they’re not taking any more calls due to volume. I just want to be able to drive now that my ban has ended. I haven’t touched any alcohol for 6 months so blood test should be fine. Doctor at medical told me that they wouldn’t want to write to my GP so I hope that he’s right.

Its an absolute joke I've rang again still to be reviewed but they've been saying that since Thursday my ban was in 2010 and I've only applied for my licence due to work promotion which I've lost due to the dvla not getting there act together I was told at my so called medical that oh you'll be fine it'll take 2 weeks from now n you'll be back on the road that was the 23rd of March soooo frustrating hopefully you'll have better luck than me but don't hold your breath im sorry to say

I’m the same as you…medical 23/3, results scanned in on the 26/3.

Waiting everyday, I’m a carer for a 93 old and they really don’t care.

Really is a case of waiting.

I’m giving it 28 days then I’m going to my MP.

Why don't you have your licence number? Did you send your photo card back to DVLA? Your licence number won't change from the one on the photocard. No onne ever asked me to send back my licence.
