Anonymous girl,
You have submitted a long post today in the ‘ask a solicitor’ section. You are unlikely to get a reply before your court appearance in the morning.
When you appear in court, your name, address and occupation will be confirmed with the magistrates. This will be the details that you gave the Police and they then put on the charge sheet. I see no reason that you would be referred to as a ‘call girl’ unless you gave that as your job when the police booked you into custody.......
It is not possible for you to change your name by deed poll tonight, submit a passport application and then give that name in court tomorrow. Even if it was, it would still be your name in court tomorrow, with the new name being listed as an ‘alias’ to your real name.
You had about 5 units of alcohol in your system when you were breath tested, 3or 4 hours had gone by, there are 9-10 units of alcohol in a bottle of wine at 12-14% abc, so the reading was about right, I don’t think your drinks were spiked. The co-codamol if anything would have slowed your liver down, producing a higher reading that without taking them.
Your best bet is a quiet guilty plea and say as little as possible, certainly not mentioning anything you have said in the post to the solicitor here.
The more detail in court, the more likely the press are to publish the story!
You can ask ask to speak to the duty solicitor on the day. Drink driving does not qualify for legal aid, but the advice is free, and he or she MIGHT go into court to speak for you depending on how busy they are.
You do not have to pay the fine on the day, you can pay in instalments and they will ask you about your financial circumstances. Whatever the outcome, you will have a ban, you cannot avoid that. It will be between 12-16 months. This can be reduced by up to 25% if you are offered, and accept, to do a Drink Drive Rehabilitation Course. If the magistrates do not mention it, ask if you can do the course. It cannot be offered once case has finished in court.
I hope this helps........
