I have been abstinent for 10 months I have had a CDT test taken yesterday (Wed 17) arranged by my GP the result will take upto 14 days, and if ok I will book my DVLA medical my doctor seems to think It will be fine, but I keep reading messages from people saying that THEY have abstained from drink for 5 months, 7 months sometimes more sometimes less and the results have come back at 3.9% I do not understand this as I thoughT you needed to drink everyday for this type of result. PLEASE HELP ITS REALLY CONFUSING ME.

from what I understand cdt has a half life of 4 weeks - so if its very high it will come down really quickly

ie if cdt=10% in 4 weeks time it will be 5% in another 4 weeks = 2.5% in another 4 = 1.25% and so on

as for others not drinking for 7 months and having high results - I cant see how but Im not an expert just caught up in this like yourself
