Do newly qualified drivers or those caught less than 2 years after passing their practical test have to retake both practical and theory test and do an extended test after being caught drink driving? How long is their minimum ban?

Also because they have to go back and apply for a completely new provisional licence, will that licence being new be completely clean of any previous motoring offences?

Drivers who get 6 points or more in the first 2 years after passing their test have to resit both their theory and practical tests. Drink driving carries no points, just a disqualification, so there is no requirement to resit. The minimum ban is the same as that for any other driver: 12 months.
If a person does have to resit their tests because of 6 points then their next licence will show relevant points in it, which means points awarded in the last 4 years.

oh Price I so wanted to answer this question as I have jus learnt it, proper burst my bubble!!!
