I'm new to the forum as I was charged with drink driving 2 weeks ago. I blew 67 at the station. I understand that I am likely to receive a ban of between 17 and 22 months. I have my court date on 7th Sept and intend pleading guilty. I am absolutely ashamed and depressed by the whole experience.
I contacted a solicitor almost straightaway who I have to admit has given me no help whatsoever and I have made the decision to represent myself in court.
I would like to hear from anyone who has represented themselves in court and could give me any advice. I know that I am going to be a complete emotional wreck, so my partner, who is not a solicitor has offered to act as my 'surrogate' legal representative. Would this be allowed in court?
