Hi Guys,

Ashamedly I was convicted of drink driving earlier this year and feel terrible about my actions.

Just looking for a bit of advice from others in similar situations. Im about to graduate from university (on track for a 1st class honors degree) and about to enter into the job market. Has this conviction completely hindered others applying for jobs? Have employers given you a chance to try and explain or have you simply been disregarded?

Right now I feel like I may have wasted the last 4 years of my life for a degree that wont help as im now a convicted criminal

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry to say this but with the current climate there are probbaly 100-300 other people applying for one post nowadays.

That's my experience though and I am in a less skilled job.

It's entirely possible that because you have aquired a skill from uni that is desired by employers they could overlook your current driving situation.

My advice - move to London nigh on impossible to drive to work in the city.
