Hi ladies/gents , just an update regards my HRO medical .I had a letter sent to me on the 23rd Dec to advise that I can book my medical ,left it four days , the franchise Drs didn't have my paperwork , it took them over a week after mine to receive it so I'm booked in for Feb 25th, roughly 6 half weeks .My question , I'm not a all year round ,neither was I a Xmas drinker ,but I've had a good 3 weeks over pre and post Xmas on the "lash", perhaps 4 <pints 5% I think Stella, maybe ( I'll say more so I'm hopefully going to get a rough idea if I should be ok?)so say I've had 3 pints 4 nights outta 7 for say 4 weeks which is deffo less, an odd Nightcap of A Double with my friend Mr Jack Daniels before bed , will 6 weeks of complete abstinence started on Saturday gone , be "normalised" CDT acceptable levels ? I can honestly say I've use alcohol with pressure and worry as my father ATM is on end of life care,, but as I'm putting my cards on the table , I don't drink all through any one year for years ,Inc 2021 , so I'm trying to ask is it a bad mistake or would it have been better to book for a later date, you have 12 weeks I think it says ,but I've confirmed it now with DVLA and don't want to give any incling that there's misuse, because there isn't ,only that I've had more than 14 units , thanks guys for any advice ...

From what you have said, 6 weeks should see your CDT being fine. But there could be an issue with the question: “how often do you consume more that 6 units in one session?”

Sorry buddy, my last two pints, 4 units was Saturday , I got a ticket for a fa cup game and had 2 X pints of Peroni, think it's the same strength as Stella, that was my last ,, prior sat, 1 can on the Thursday and I left half of that , it was warm n nasty .But like I said,I don't wanna move the goalposts , but I don't wanna be in that Amber cat , if anything I'd rather ring up, because I've not lied on any form, and I won't at a medical, so if it's a risk , 6 weeks 2 days tomorrow I think I got , but I' had 12 weeks from the date of my letter ,23rd Dec , so deadline is March 17th, it's not an issue regarding abstaining , but id rather alter it sooner than say let one more week pass??? Thanks 👍👍👍👍 it's a headache ,but a long time to be refused

( sorry admin, I think I replied incorrectly to the gentleman) re the quantity question you asked,I've just copied n pasted my answer from last night , sorry again for replying inside a QT

rink within government guidelines (up to 14 units a week, spread out with no more than 6 units on one session) right up to the medical and still produce a low CDT reading.
The reason that abstaining is often advocated is that for some people, one pint inevitably leads to a few more each time!

Dont bother ringing DVLA to tell them anything. All they go by, unless they need to consult your GP, is how the medical went and the answers on the medical enquiry form that is completed.

Can medicines impact CDT?
I’m suffering with bad toothache due to a sinus infection and having to take co-codemol and naproxen. Do things like this impact on CDT?

Those things will have no impact on your CDT score

Thank you so much for your knowledge , I'm as I say pulling my hair out with "pop up's" asking if I wanna book a test , then they start your mind going ten to the dozen when it's already like a bad Friday on the M56, it's ironic that all sorta started happening when I should ( and I am with admin for suggesting emailing mr T Burton , thanks again ✌️, and he just seemed to have got the application going as if it had been stuck in a cupboard, he must have some influence ! I'm also waiting for someone to park my dad's car as I've done the duty of care / well,I should say it's uninsured now as it's void after a bereavement, so with like I say knowing that the info I told your good self is true,I feel like a sigh of relief and maybe I'll even sleep tonight ,not sure if it's just me or has anyone's body clock gone during LD ?But I've never had like I say sleeping pills ,and I'm not starting at 55 , but you made a valid point , and one I'd say others should take note of is "the getting used to " that tipple you normally don't have , in fact I would imagine it takes not long to have 6 units and more 7 days a week ! So thank you , I'll next post on medical day , 20 minutes the reception lady said and £98.50 Inc vat pref in cash ,well I'd rather pay cash, they said it was king but it's apparently not now😩, so all the best to all about to take their medical , it's been a long road and as someone pointed out, there's still one post medical with results etc , I'm hoping for June, latest ( fingers crossed ) and be that Sunday driver I moaned about 22 years ago when I was banned lol, ✌️✌️✌️ thanks again man,and to all who run this really blooming spot on forum, it's priceless, if the forum gives any donations to charity admin please let me know , if it was a solicitor Id be on a large bill with the help , most importantly, all stay safe out there, our University hospital is at crisis levels with wards being closed through lack of staff ,I hope DVLA are *masked up*, and to be fair it shocked me when the message about verbal abuse came on the med group welcome to part , roughly the 60th redial , I really thought they were civil servants and again, instead via the forum they aren't ,and not getting the safety option to work from home . Anyway,I'm waffling on , thanks so much ✌️✌️✌️✌️

Tbh. The dvla are only interested in your cdt levels. The questionnaire is designed to find out if you are lying about how much you drink as that can indicate other red flags

This is not the case.

CDT is only 1 of the things that is looked at, many people have been refused a licence even though they have a low CDT %.

CDT only gives an indication of recent alcohol intake, over the last few months or so. Questionnaires, medicals, GP referrals, other agency interaction as well as notes the DVLA already have are all equally as important in obtaining your licence back.

I ain't got no CDT worries or any medical worries ! The DVLA ( thank you admin for the advice about contacting ( thank you Mr T Burton) Tim Burton who really ,I mean really helped this really trying 9 and a half months exactly today that I posted my application off ! the Three GP reports , ones missing in post, then emailing them , the goodness knows how many calls phone calls to *6806* , a number I'll without a doubt never inflict on myself again ! The DVLA were totally happy with all GP/specialist results and I've been issued my license which is on the way from Wales
So thank you to the forum,it's moving faster now,and good luck to all that are near your time to get behind the wheel....🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
