Convicted Driver Insurance
Good luck, your probably going through a very stressful time at the moment but I promise it does get better. I was in the exact same situation back in 2011, it was a nightmare and I thought things would never get better but in a few years things will be ok. Even if you do just get a 1 year ban it'll be very difficult to get car insurance for the next 5 years or it will be very expensive. I thought I wouldn't be able to live without my car but after a while I got used to it and saved a lot of money. You'll be ok and just remember things will be ok in time :)

The court will tell you if you need to have a medical to get your licence back, well they did with me. Anyhow, good luck Thursday.... and like others have said, it does get better.... so try not to dwell on it too much

So do they tell you if you need to do a medical at court ? And thanks x

Court will not tell you if you have to have a medical. there are 3 scenarios for being a HRO (High Risk Offender) who needs to pass a medical to get the licence returned.

1) Reading above 87.5 breath
2) Failure to provide specimen
3) Caught more than once in 10 years.

I know it's hard chel but you crashed the car and damaged property, but you will get through it with the help of this forum we are all here for you, I noticed you like 4x4 I've not long ago reinsured my shogun sport and to my surprise my insurance premium didn't go up, in fact it's cheaper, going back last year I was revoked for merely telling a doctor I drank 30 units of alcohol a week, yes revoked for a year with no crime committed I was gutted I bought a brand new motorbike and I had two weeks on it before they took my licence off me , but I got through it , now been issued with a temp 1 year licence with a medical every year, chances are when you do have your licence back it'll be a 10 year one :)

The benefits as well for being revoked compared to drink drive is that my insurance premium didn't go up and I can drive on a section 88 if my licence runs out during investigation...

Do you only get temp license if you drink a lot I don’t drink a lot and infact don’t think I’ll drink again as it’s scared the living daylights out of me this time , yes a loved my 4x4 ? because I have horses and much easier , so when I get my license back can I not buy another 4x4 or would my insurance be sky high I was paying 130 a month for mine a 06 reg

Temp licence are usually issued when you have a medical problem that needs checking from time to time or when you have been classed as alcohol misuse/dependence so that they can keep a eye on you for usually about 3 years but they can keep you for 6 years according to the courts, insurance I would imagine may well be high to start off but there are good sites around now that specialise for the drink driver ( sounds awful don't it ) but you'll get use to it, it's declarable for the next five years to insurance but stays on your licence for 11 years with DVLA in case you do it again (but I don't think that will happen)....

I see well I Havnt been to doctors to say I’ve been drinking a lot

How long drink will go out your system ?
