You are right to use a solicitor for an ID parade, it is most important to see that they are run properly.
The police will have a set procedure to follow, you will have the opportunity to see who else is in the lineup and object if they look nothing like you. The aim is that you should not stand out in any particular way, such as being taller than the other 7, or dressed differently or have the longest / shortest hair etc.
After the parade you can be expected to be interviewed again where, if you are identified, this will be put to you to see what you want to say.
If you are not identified, they may not bother to interview you if they have no other evidence.
The police will then decide, with CPS, if there is enough evidence to charge you and bail you to court in 1 or 2 weeks.
