Unpaid work can consist of either working in a group doing a variety of community work which may include litter picking, painting, gardening, furniture removals etc.
Individual placements are also available at places such as charity shops and voluntary organisations.
The type of work you will be required to perform will depend on your skills, what work is available at a particular location and your availability to carry out the work.
The time at which you can carry out your community service can be flexible and your work hours will be taken into account. Unpaid work opportunities should be available during the week, at weekends, during the day and the evening.
