I am about to get my licence back after a 20 month ban, which was reduced to 15 months by the courts for attending a drink awareness course.
I am aware that when I do get my licence back, it will have a DR10 on it for 11 long years and throughout that time I haven't got a chance of gaining employment as a driver in the U.K.
With other career options in my local area being very limited for someone with no other qualifications and 11 years being a very long time to spend flitting between unemployment and seasonal dead-end jobs, I am looking at moving to mainland Europe to enhance my employment prospects. Italy to be more precise.
My question is, if I swap my uk licence for an Italian licence, will it still come back with a DR10 on it? And if so, would there be anything stopping me redoing my tests in Italy and obtaining a clean Italian licence that way?
