I was caught drink driving and intend to plead not guilty at the first court appearence which is 15th May 2009, how long will it be before I am back in court- when of course I will plead guilty.

When you plead not guilty the case will be adjourned for witnesses to be called to the court to give evidence at your trial. Usually a period of several weeks but this could depend on the availability of said witnesses.

If you plead not guilty then change your plea to guilty you will not benefit from a third off any sentence imposed as you do when you plead guilty at the earliest possible convenience.

You need to receive advice from a motoring law specialist as to whether you ought to plead guilty or not guilty. As the moderator has said, if you don't plead guilty as soon as is possible you will not benefit from receiving full credit for your plea. Often, a skilled lawyer can argue that credit should reduce the ban.

If you want to receive some advice call us. We offer fixed fee representation and will give honest advice so you know where you stand. We will also consider whether there are any defences that you can run, whether the Prosecution can prove what they say about you and whether, if you want to plead guilty, any special reasons apply in your case.
