eye test on medical

hi can any 1 plz tell me what kind of eye test you have to have when you have a medical after a drink drive ban do you have to cover 1 eye at a time or just read the letters with both, thanks

On mine I had to cover one eye at a time and read one line. Took about 10 seconds.

thanks for that can you remeber how many lines down it was, i have rang dvla and they said you only have to have a eye test if you drive a lorry or bus but ive had a medical before an had eye test just to drive a car but **** remeber how in deph it was unreal iv got bad left eye thats all and bit worried

It wasnt a normal eye chart like the opticians,it was a smaller version. I cant remember how many lines were on it but the letters werent that small. I wear glasses for driving but didnt have them on and I read it easily, was only 3 letters and the same threewith each eye, so do your good eye first then repeat . All this is assuming it's the same, some people dont have them think it depends on doctor.
