Car insurance while driving under section 88

My ban is up shortly but my date for a hro medical is after my ban is up...i have spoken to the dvla who have said i can drive under section 88 of the road traffic act but how can i get car insurance to allow me to do so? can anyone help?

I obviously cant provide insurance companies with a copy of my driving licence....

The letter of authority to drive under S88 should be sufficient for insurance purposes. That shows your driving licence number. If you have only been told verbally by DVLA then ask them for a letter.
