Early Guilty Plea

Hi

I was charged with Drinking with Excess Alcohol (179ml Blood) and I am thinking of getting an early guilty plea in to reduce the sentence I will be given. I am due in court in April so would I lose my licence the moment I enter the guilty plea or will I lose it on the day of court still? I am the only driver for my young family and hope to get my wife driving before I lose it!

Thanks

The earliest stage at which a plea will be considered by the court in a case like this is the date of the hearing. For this offence, you can only formally enter a plea on that date and should be given maximum credit (33% reduction applied to the fine or community order element) for any guilty plea entered on that court date. An early guilty plea means the first stage at which you appear before the court.
