Hi. I am due in court on Friday and not sure whether to get a solicitor. It is my first offence but was at 84 when breathalysed. Shall I write a letter of apology and read it out. This is all very new to me and a bit scared as to what to do.
Thanks.

A reading of 84µg of alcohol per 100ml of breath will mean that the court will impose a ban of between 17 and 22 months together with either a fine OR a community order. The court will welcome your remorse but it is also important to deal with any circumstances of the offence that may seem aggravating as well as highlighting elements of your character and your background that can help the court decide on the overall penalty. I would advise contacting a solicitor to discuss your options in respect of representation. You an contact a specialist on 0333 323 1116.
