Saturday night I was stopped by police after someone in my local reported me. Anyway caught yes and blew 58.
I have recently moved to my area and have taken a twelve month lease on my house. I am self employed and need a car. Long and short of it, not going to be able to work and will lose my house. No public transport to get a job. Is there any way a court will not issue a disqual period? Thanks

Unfortunately, the court will always impose a ban upon entering a guilty plea unless there are special reasons for not doing so. Special reasons could be:

1. A genuine emergency;
2. Driving a very short distance with the intention of driving no further; or
3. Having your drinks laced with alcohol without your knowledge

None of those appear to apply to you and you will note that any special reasons relate to the ingredients of the offence rather than the personal circumstances of the offender (you). Your personal circumstances will not be enough to avoid a ban. Your reading places you at risk of a ban of between 12 - 16 months. You are towards the higher end of the bracket. Your circumstances, if presented properly by a well prepared specialist, could be enough to reduce the ban to the lower end of the bracket. You could also be offered the opportunity of completing a drink driving rehabilitation course which can reduce your ban by up to 25%.

Should you need representation i would recommend contacting 0333 009 5537.
