A second conviction in 10 years will mean you face a mandatory disqualification of a minimum of 3 years upon entering a guilty plea. The reading you have produced could mean that you are banned for any period between 36 months and 52 months. You will also be given a community order given the level of your reading. Your previous conviction is long enough ago for it not to aggravate your position enough to put you at risk of having a prison sentence imposed. An accident can often aggravate the position enough to give the court reason to consider a different penalty and custody, although on the face of it seeming unlikely, cannot 100% be ruled out.

As well as considering the circumstances of the offence, the court will also consider the circumstances of the offender and the fact that you are a mother with young dependent children is a very important factor to be taken into consideration by any court. The probation service will likely prepare a pre-sentence report which makes a recommendation about any penalty to go alongside the ban but it is very important to address all areas of mitigation to ensure that you are presented in the best possible way to assist and persuade the court to impose more lenient penalties. I would recommend contacting a specialist solicitor to discuss this in more detail. You can contact a specialist on 03333233729.
