Drink Driving Ban & No Insurance

Having lost licence from drink driving (minimum 12 months fortunately)- the police did not prosecute for also having no insurance (although they were aware of this). Can they in future change their mind and charge for driving with no insurance - or is this matter now closed.

Any advice much appreciated

It is extremely unlikely but if they wanted to they would have a time limit of 6 months from the date of the offence to bring further proceedings against you.
