drink driving and leaving scene

Hi

I was drink driving hit a wall and ran off as I panicked. Went home and was arrested.
My reading was 89.
In my statement I denied I was driving but went down the following day to tell the police I was the driver.
I have never been in trouble with the police and have a clean record.
What ban will I be looking at?

For a reading of 89 in breath the Magistrates sentencing guidelines advise the imposition of a 17-22 month disqualification and a Band C fine, although your reading is at the very top end of this bracket. As such the Court may look to sentence you in the higher bracket which advises the imposition of a 23-28 month disqualification and a community order. I do not believe that it is particularly likely that the Court will sentence you more harshly, however it cannot be ruled out. Alongside the above sentence you are also likely to be offered the opportunity to attend the drink drive rehabilitation course which would reduce the length of your disqualification by up to 25% upon completion.
