Error by Magistrates Court

Convicted Driver Insurance

I have been convicted for a drink driving offence two days ago and was told that I would be given a 16 month ban, which is reduced by 16 weeks should I complete a Drink Driving Rehabilitation Course. However I have received the official papers from the Magistrates today and on the "Notice about the reduction in disqualification" letter it says I have a ban of 16 months, but if I take the course they would reduce the ban by 16 months. As this is an official document, after I appeared in court, do they have to honour what was said in the letter? Can this official document be viewed as a legal document which has to be met? Thank you in advance.

The official judgement was given in Court by the Magistrates, the letter sent out to you simply has a typographical error and this will not be sufficient to challenge this.
