Hi, I was caught drink driving on Friday, 2 times the limit. I am in court on 17th July. I will plead guilty, do I need to have a solicitor?

The Magistrates sentencing guidelines advise a 17-22 month disqualification and a means tested fine for a reading of 70 in breath. If this is your first offence you should be offered the drink drive rehabilitation course which will reduce the length of your disqualification by up to 25% upon completion. Whether or not you need a solicitor is entirely up to you, being represented can help keep the length of the disqualification down to a minimum but if you are not reliant on your licence for work or personal reasons then it may not be worth you instructing a solicitor.

If you are interested in representation or would like to discuss your case in greater detail then you are welcome to call my office on 0845 002 0736
