Declaring convictions on a foreign license

Convicted Driver Insurance

I got banned from driving almost 18 months ago and want to get on the road. Because I'm a young driver, insurance is sky high already, with the convictions insurers are refusing to insure me, or quoting 5K+.

I can however quickly shoot over to Germany with to my brother's house and get a license there and I have just been offered a job in Ireland so I could go and get my license there.

The question is, if I'm getting insured on this German or Irish license, do I need to declare my convictions to the insurance company, since the license I'll be driving on will be squeaky clean?

Thanks

That will depend entirely on whether the insurance companies terms and conditions require you to disclose any and all driving convictions or not. I would advise that you read through the companies T&C's to ensure that you are being fully compliant.
