I feel stupid. Got home, got in the car which was thoughtless. Stopped and a reading of 76.

Never drunk driven before and feel God awful and ashamed to my family and inlaws.

What can I expect? I'm in Scotland, don't have a solicitor yet. I'm supposed to be abroad on this first court date of 22nd July.

Also came back to find my car smashed up by vandals where I was forced to leave it. (luckily only windscreen and scratch)

I intend pleading guilty as what I did was thoughtless and wrong.

Don't make any hasty decisons.

There are lots of implications of losing your licence... that will far outlast your understandable feelings of guilt.

I used www.roadtrafficlaw.com based in Glasgow in Scotland and was very pleased with the defence of my drink driving case in Scotland. My career was on the line and I can't tell you how relieved I was.

I've just looked at their site for the first time in ages and they have added a series of videos on drunk driving with advice and information on all aspects of the procedures and what to expect.

Take a look and then find out what's involved. I think you might be pleasnatly suprised and they may be able to stop a ban as well as your embarrassment.: http://roadtrafficlaw.com/road-traffic-law-scotland/

Hope it helps

Paulo,

Unfortunately we are unable to advise you as you need to consult with a Scot law lawyer. I would recommend that you approach one that specialises in road traffic law.
