So I recently applied for a job with Company X (Will remain nameless). The company specialise in alcohol worldwide and are a huge corp company. I applied for a job with them as a Business Development Executive but previously back on 30/01/2008 was convicted of drink driving now this has not been a problem or issue for any job I have applied for since getting my license back in 11/2008 even when it was a unspent conviction. Now the conviction is spent so is no longer on any CRB check and will not effect any insurance (Business or personal I have checked). Now I got through to the final interview stage at which they have requested to see my license at which point I have contacted them to advise that its on there but will not affect any insurance or show on any CRB check. So about 1hr later I have a phone call from the lady who has advised me they can no longer progress my application due to my DR10 due to there Corporate Responsibility. I am gutted as my skills really fit this role and don't really know what to do.
