Hi, I have been recently arrested for drink driving, my test reading was 82. I was disqualified for the same in June 1999 and never applied for my licence back because i couldnt afford it. I am currently unemployed and am struggling to find work so therefore i cant afford a solicitor. It is going to be hard enough to find work as it is, am i looking at a custodial sentence as i think this would make it almost impossible to find work.

hello, if you are only charged with the drink driving, no licence and no insurance then i do not think that this will result in a custodial sentence. If there is more background that i would need to be aware of then just email back with more details. If you are struggling financially then it may be worth asking for the duty solicitor when you attend Court and they may be able to help with the hearing. If you get to Court early and find the duty sol then it will increase your chances of getting some assistance. good luck
