expat in Switzerland DUI 5 month ban now moving back to UK

I have been living as an expat in Switzerland for the last 10 years. I was caught the morning after the night before(not an excuse) and was subsequently banned for 5 months. I have a Swiss driving licence. The ban was served in 2013-2014. I was also informed that the conviction will remain on my record for 5 years. This will expire in October 2018.

I will be moving back to the UK in April 2017 and I wondering if the conviction follows me to the UK? and do I have to inform the insurance of the conviction?

Any advice would be great.
